CHALLENGE - University of Manchester research 2018 found that 16 - 24 year olds experience loneliness more often and more intensely than any other age group. My challenge was to find a way to connect lonely people and create a community in a fashion that was appealing to young adults.
SOLUTION - Solli is a friendly and humorous character that features in both the physical world and the digital world. Through laughter Solli aims to mitigate the overwhelming effect of the loneliness heightened by the Coronavirus. Using Nonsense Poetry to address serious topics, Solli helps people see the humour in things that bother them. Utilising the popular and sharable nature of instagram material, Solli encourages interaction between young people.
